Belden to Show Video, Audio Cables

April 21, 2009

Wire and cable maker Belden is bringing out two new cables for the NAB Show, one for the eyes and one for the ears.

For video use is the 7732LL, a replacement for the 7732A. The LL is a "Plenum-rated RG-11 precision digital video coaxial cable" according to Belden. It can pass long runs of HD/1080p video. Inside the 7732LL uses a 14 AWG solid copper conductor with a Duofoil 95+ percent tinned copper braid shield, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation and a fluorocopolymer jacket. Ten color choices are available.

On the audio side, the 1353A is a new AES/EBU digital audio cable. A single-pair designed for digital and analog duties, the 1353A is a Cat5e cable sturdy enough for applications ranging from broadcast to installation. Dual 24 AWG stranded copper conductors are bonded longitudinally for better handling.
