Federal Communications Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein is at the NAB Show to unveil a redesigned informational Web site for the DTV transition.
The reworked
www.dtv.gov site is said to be more user friendly and useful in general.
It has ZIP code-searchable information about available DTV coverage, for example, with contacts, events and service centers listed. There are also reception maps, a troubleshooting guide and instructions about how to hook up a converter box and antenna.
One feature is a 13-question "DTV Deputy Quiz," to certify one as being knowledgeable enough to educate others about DTV. One of the questions asks what DTV stands for, with responses including "Different Television," "Dynamite Television," "Dolby Television" and "Digital Television," setting the accreditation bar very high.
The official unveiling occurs at 11 this morning at the FCC booth in North Hall.
